Chelsea welcome a familiar face back to Stamford Bridge on Saturday as Brendan Rodgers returns with Swansea.

The Swans boss was part of the Blues' coaching staff during Jose Mourinho's tenure and will need no introduction to the West London outfit.

Chelsea will be desperate to ensure that Rodgers has no cause for celebration at the end of 90 minutes.

They suffered their first defeat of the season last time out at Manchester United, but know the result could have been different were it not for contentious decisions and poor finishing.

The Blues will be happy to be back on home soil this weekend, having won eight and lost none of their last nine top flight fixtures at the Bridge.

The one concern for Andre Villas-Boas heading into the game will be the fact that Chelsea have kept only one clean sheet in their last nine Premier League games - meaning they always have work to do in the final third.

Swansea saw former Blues winger Scott Sinclair end their 374-minute wait for a Premier League goal last weekend as they picked up their first three-point haul against West Brom.

The Swans may be up and running among the top flight elite, but they have not won away at Chelsea since November 1925.

Nine games have come and gone since then, with the Welsh side losing six and drawing three.

Rodgers will not be reading too much into that record, but he will be aware that his team have won only one of their last eight regular league games away from the Liberty Stadium and will be keen to address that issue.

Chelsea saw Petr Cech and Daniel Sturridge pick up knocks during their midweek Carling Cup victory over Fulham.

First-choice keeper Cech is expected to be OK to face the Swans, but Sturridge remains a doubt with a knee problem.

Didier Drogba, Juan Mata and Jose Bosingwa were unused substitutes against the Cottagers, while the likes of Fernando Torres, Raul Meireles and Branislav Ivanovic will be fresh after being rested.

Brazilian centre-half Alex will play no part for the Blues as he must serve a suspension following his cup dismissal.

Swansea manager Rodgers has no fresh injury concerns to contend with.

Striker Danny Graham is set to be available after missing the 3-0 win over West Brom with a back complaint, but may have to settle for a bench spot after Leroy Lita's goalscoring exploits against the Baggies.

Left-back Neil Taylor has recovered from the blow to the head he suffered in a challenge with Peter Odemwingie but Rodgers remains short of centre-halves with Alan Tate (broken leg) and Steven Caulker (knee) injured, so captain Garry Monk and Ashley Williams will again pair up in defence.

Midfielder Kemy Agustien (hamstring) and striker Craig Beattie (ankle) are also sidelined.
